Anyone Towing Over 9,000lbs With A 6.0L
Is there anyone out there that is currently towing with a Silverado 6.0L 2007-2008 Model over 9,000LBS? If so how do you like it?

I hope the newer 6.0 gas are better than the 2003 GM that I had . I pulled my 8x20 car trailer with 4 800 lb Harleys and the truck had a hell of a time pulling that .
I switched to a Ford F-250 with a Diesel burn half the fuel (when towing ) and can pull out and pass at 70 mph .

I have an 06 w/ the LBZ diesel & I pull a Fastech 353 & a 265 Grady White EC. They are both over 9,000 & the truck does great. I looked at all makes before buying & I liked the ride of the Chevy better than the others. I put about 60,000 miles a year on a truck. Right now I'm getting 19mpg. I think the Ford & Dodge may tow a lil better w/ the stiffer suspension, but you lose the ride when not towing.

Good luck. I have a 07 6.0 in a HD2500 extented cab. With any load in the bed it does good to get out of its own way. On the other hand my 06 HD3500 with Duramax and Allison pull my 14k lb Black Thunder like gang busters.

Just the type of responses you were hoping for, I'm sure.

we use a 2007 new body style chevy 2500 2wd crewcab short bed with 20' wheels/ tires towing roughly that weight with granite. Seems to do good enough even with our old trailer with no brakes when we pruchased the truck. Good enough to not warrent the need togo diesel or bigger on the hp. constantly hooked to the trailer loaded it averages around 9.5 to 10 and that is both a lot of in town and little freeway. hope that kinda helps.
