Tow vehicles

Something to remember is that the 04 and down have a SFA, so the lifting is easier and cheaper, but are a little harder to drive. Also, 8" is the limit on those before you start needing new driveshafts and brake lines. I think a 6" with 35's and 20's is about perfect.

About what I was thinking. 38's look good but probably a little much for a daily driver for me anyway. 35s and 4 - 6" of lift would probably make me happy. Def want 05 or newer for smoother ride.

he he, Obviously unfimiliar with the capabilities of the old military cucv.
This ain't no civilian K-5.... Can you say 1-ton?
LLLiiiikkee Aaa Rroccckkk
the saggage is due to the ultra flexy Offroad Design Inc rear shackle flip kit. That and the short wheelbase, while maybe not the best for towing, create dominance at the offroad parks. I have yet to meet a trail I can't conquer. Being able to tow my lil scarab (with ease) is just a bonus.

Cool looking old blazer. Military spec or not, I sure as heck wouldnt pull that boat with it. Ultra flexy is what you will be when you are getting bent over by the insurance companies if you have a wreck. Maybe they will cut you slack if you tell them its not a civilian blazer.
That old scarab probably weighs in at 10-11k lbs or better with that steel trailer. You can put 1 ton parts on a 1/2 ton, but its still a half ton truck on paper. I used to tow a single engine 26 scarab with a K5 blazer. I had heavier springs, axles, etc. It was a miserable and scary ride on the freeway at 55mph. Ended up trading it in for a 1991 Dodge 2500 club cab cummins truck. WAAAY better towing the boat. Cant imagine pullin that 34 you have.
Like the scarab though, what kind of power you got in it?

2004 F350 diesel lifted 4" with bigger tires. Front hitch, rear airbags, extra trans cooler, upgraded lighting, upgraded rear hitch, pulls a 45 Sonic great.

I don't think it's overkill. The time may come(I hope not though) when you'll be glad you have the dually's stability to keep your boat's trailer from fishtailing. Remember, if that starts to happen, accelerate out of it if you can.
