I thought Australia is where they have those road trains with multiple trailers pulling across the country.

they do, but not in cities. in cities road vehicle laws are over the top. it is a police state on the roads here

Problem with Duramax is the towing weight. According to my Lawyer Friend towing a heavy boat (14,000#) with Light duty truck could get you in a legal bind if you have an accident. Too bad Ford doesn't make an F350 Dually Excursion. Hopefully they have their Diesel problems fixed.
