I was empty but I ordered the 4.88 rear gear. So at 75 mph it's turning about 2500 rpm's. Should've got the 4.30's I guess.

I have the 4.88 and I get just over 12. That is combination of town and highway. I have noticed that with the 4.88 there is a huge difference over 70 mph. In my 2004 excursion with a 6.0 diesel and 3.73 rear I got 14. That's not a big difference.

I just picked up a new F350 4X4 CC SRW. With the 20" wheels and 3.73 gears I am running 76mph at 2000 rpm. I am happy with that. This is my first diesel (I have been a V10 guy) and so far I love the truck (all 300 miles I put on it so far).

I only have 1200 miles on it so maybe it is still getting broke in. It did get better mileage on the way home from the trip down.

I only have about 6k miles on mine but it has been an excellent truck. I have towed my boat and it feels safer than the heavy duty I was towing it with before.

I'm with you it is the best driving truck I've had (I have had a bunch a new one every year since 1999). It's a little hard on fuel but ohh well. Tell Monica's ex-boyfriend's wife to kiss my a$$. I use petro & will never stop.
