Only if it can be proven the modification you did caused the malfunction. Just beware....it is an uphill battle going against the dealer and manuf. On the flip side, there are thousands of people that run chips, intake, and exhaust on their ford dodge and chevy diesles ever day and would do nothing less. You will be fine as long as you get a good computer and dont run it on balls out setting all the time with your right foot planted.

Do the mods and enjoy.

I had a 2002 7.3 powerstroke put 140k on it with a chip and exhaust it really ran great and never had any prolbems but this new motor with all of the emissions chit in the exhaust system I didnt really know how it would react to a programmer, I will probally try one someday.

It will probably run in regen more often. There are already DPF delete pipes and foolers for the new 6.7 dodges....hopefully they will make them for fords soon.

I have a 4.88 rear but I had to get that to legally tow my boat (19K limit with 4.30, 24K with 4.88). I get just over 12 mpg combination of highway and town.

When was your truck built? I believe that Ford changed some of there towing capacities at the beginning of 08,,4.30 or 4.88 it didnt matter on a straight pull trailer,,I'll check there website :cool-smiley-027:

I just checked my dealers/Fords website on towing capacities for 08 F-450 4X4 auto pickups, not cab & chassis as of 01/01/08 straight pull/conventional 16k with either gear ratio 4.30 or 4.88,,,5th wheel is 20k for the 4.30 and 24k for the 4.88 I was told Ford backed off on their gvw ratings starting the begining of the new year, FYI

B&W Gooseneck 24k dropdown with a pintle hook, looks like a mini version of the heavy haulers moving heavy road machinery with semis on dropdown trailers

has anyone else put a big hp chip on the 08 ford yet , I was talking to a guy in maimi last week, and he had a duramax, sent his computer off to get re-programed to delete the EGR sensor, and he put a chip on it and said that it ran really really good, has anyone thought about doing this with the 6.4, because I am really thinking about doing the same thing with my 08' ford!

Talk with Eric or Ted...Ive used these guys since 03, straight up, and when new tunes come through or revisions they email to you for free. All you do is down load it. Presently the stock tunes on his 08 3/4 CC run 14.4. When the custom tunes are perfect he will release the programs and should be like the 6.0's @ 13.4's. The tunes I get are tow, aggressive street, and race. Race should be used at track, cause it locks torque converter in all gears, not just 4 and 5 from factory. Aggressive street is more forgiving and I like to have 3rd locked in and then adjust my shift pressure on 1st and 2nd,.. 5 and 10% to be firmer. If you drive normal you will get better mileage, and when you need the power it's always there. I never really get on it, and always use the tow mode when towing 8k or more. All the gauges come with it and takes about a minute to change programs. Good Luck Jeff
