They have a known problem with the passenger side glowplug wiring that will cause the cold-start and cold-performance problem you write of.

#2 sounds like the fuel pump.

on injectors, I had one of mine in on several occasions and literally beat on them until they changed the injectors. Problem went away. You need thorough documentation considering you're 3K away from warranty end. Ford beats their dealers hard to put as little as possible into these engines under warranty repairs. It's also unusual to find a tech that truly knows what he's doing. I ended up at a dealer that does a big commercial business and sees many of these vehicles daily.

Hey Chris Great information! I am rolling over to the dealership right now to pull some parts from the bins to complete a job today. I am going to insist on the necessary repairs. Documentation is not a problem as I save every reciept for the corporation.

I usually take the truck in for warranty service to a larger commercial based dealership that is 25 miles from me. These guys are up the street and more convienant.

I understand the statement, "hard to find a tech that knows what he is doing". We handle manufacture warranty and r&d for 2 major swimming pool equipement companies. We are the only FAS station in OC to handle the warranty work. Technology has passed up alot of the swimming pool techs around here. It is hard for me to find a good employee. Also, we give our customers excellent service even if they are close to being out of their warranty.

One of our 6.0's had injector problems at about 115K. I had every Ford printout from every visit plus a letter to their service director that I sent after every visit telling him my concerns were dismissed by his service writes (a bunch of know-nothings) and that I wasn't permitted to speak directly with the techs. Ford paid the bill.
