hey thanks for chiming in.....yep, it will start out as a bare bones track day car, I have an open trailer and chit...... eventually I'll hook up lights and wipers etc and make it just barely street legal...the doors will open and the windows will work.....

I live about a half hour from Mosport Park ("Porsche city" haha) and theres several other road race tracks around....Im way more into driving than building, I wish it was done like NOW!! lol

Awesome! "Porsche City" lol, thats the truth! If you couldn't tell from my screen name, I'm a fan of the German junk.

Hope maybe I'll see you out there someday! Mid-Ohio is about 40 minutes from me, if you are ever down this way, look me up!

Here's a shot of my track rat...

It has license plates

The car is an '81 911SC. It was my driver / DE car for a while, but as usual it wasn't fast enough. I ended up stripping the car all the way down to the tub and bulding it from scratch.

Here's a short list:

Stripped Interior
RS style door panels
Lexan Windshield, Rear Window, Quarter windows, and side windows (Sliding Like the old "R" cars)
3.8 RS wing and factory decklid
GT racing Bumpers
GT Racing Sunroof Plug, trays all removed
cage
Smart Racing Bilstiens F/R
Smart Racing Sway bars F/R
Hollow T bars 32mm rear / 23.5mm front
ERP Poly bronze suspension bushings
ERP Monoballs
16" X 8" / 16" X 9" BBS Rs's
Front mount oil cooler
-16AN Plumbing through the heater passages in the rockers
Factory LSD

The motor is a stock 3.0, crank trigger ignition, tweaked injection, and headers.

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to hit the track lately. The car sees the street quite a bit though

Heres a link to the build on rennlist...

I bet that IROC is an absolute hoot on the track! Is it stock?

I was looking to do the same type of thing with a GT1 road race chassis in a 69 firebird I was going to use an olds calais chassis. seemed like it would work.

Got side tracked though with my turbo car and the boat. Just too damn busy

I looked at tons of GT 1 cars over the years....the prob I found was they typically have the headers/exhaust system where the passenger would sit and a driver "capsule" where a Cup style stock car still has a conventional floor pan with the exhaust running completely underneath the car. With little modification easily room for two seats......good if you ever want to put the car on the street........you could make a GT 1 car work but it would be a h ell of a lot more work than Im doing

oh its pretty much stock, some bolt on's and brake mods.....it runs a little loose on the track but just be ready with some opposite lock and you'll be ok....its fun to drive the livin' h ell out of it
