I'm semi mechanical and even when stuck on fixing something can figure out how with shop manuals, etcetera. One of my new to me toys, well the bills are pretty excessive. Did whats called the 50K service and the bill was about the same as the 30K on a Ferrari. I like the car and the next repair coming up soon is brakes. Buying a hoist might be the less expensive option. Plus want to put 3 remaining 928's into one good car. So whats a good brand name to buy? One of my cars weighs 6,050 according to the manufacture data plate. Needs to be fairly heavy duty..............

Even on Excursion since its no longer in warranty, no point in dealer servicing and repairs. Trust myself over quick lube places and some of the other independent shops for that vehicle as well. Been thinking for awhile in getting one. Just not sure whats the best options. It will definitely pay for itself.

This is my business.
Eagle is not a quality product. Bend Pak isn't much better but they are at least ETL certified. Eagle is Far-Eastern as is alot of Bend Pak. In fact, even a long-time name brand such as Forward is all Chinese now. Rotary Lift decided they needed a more competitive product and bought Forward. They immediately shut the company down and started labelling an imported line with the Forward brand. American-made doesn't necessarily make them any better. There are a number of small maufacturers in Texas that are building lifts in dirt-floored weld shops using unquaified labor (illegals).
There is a construction standard for lifts. ANSI/ALI ALCTV 1998. It dictates exactly how a lift should be constructed and what materials need to be used. It also dictates a verification/certification process. These are BASIC construction guidelines. Some manufacturers exceed them, both for safety and durability. I could tell stories for days about the garbage that has flooded the lift market in recent years.
Go here & get some basic information on lift buying, then PM me and I can walk you through this. www.autolift.org
