359 Classic was last made in 1987 as the new version 379 also debuted in 1987. Peterbilt made three-hundred, fifty-nine 359's as the last hurah.

In talking with the factory, the 379 greatly diminshed any de-bugging as they came off the line. The 359's were hand built and custom but a great majority needed fine tuning before they left the factory.

Still my favorite truck of all time, and enjoy the pix here.

Wow...the true definition of "Class Pays"! I'm adding the fiberglass tandem fenders to my 359.

Yeah I've been thinking about getting 1 & lowering it about 4 inches & chopping the top & use it to pull my GTX. I think that would be way cool huh.

I used to like 379's and 359's until I rode in a 387 with a condo sleeper. That thing is smooth and quiet and the sleeper makes a 63" Unibilt look like a coffin inside!

Your misunderstanding the piont. It's not about what works the best it's about the old school cool factor. The 359's are very small inside but that is what makes the cab so cool lookin on the outside.

When it comes to "large cars" old school is the only school when it comes to CLASS.

Hey Joker, do you have front brakes on the 1980?? Not sure but I think 1980 was the year Federal Gov. mandated to have front brakes on all tractors.
