The only way to improve on that matching 450 you have is to go with a Pete. That Sportchassis is funny looking, especially in front of a BEAUTIFUL MTI!

The only thing I dont like with the Sportchassis is NO REAR AC ! not good in AZ,, They do pull much better than my F-450

If I ever kept anything longer than 6 months,,,:cool-smiley-011: I'd step up to a Pete

bgchuby01 04-18-2008 01:20 PM

Now that's a respectable truck to pull a high dollar boat!

bgchuby01 04-19-2008 07:51 AM

I have a viper red 384 chassis ready to be converted, 2009 with a C-13 470hpcat with a 13 ultrashift. Its set up for 80,000lbs so a boat no matter what size will be like a knat on an elephants azz

Downtown42 04-19-2008 01:08 PM

I like the 6 speed Allison rather than Ultrashift.

you can get the allison but not with the470 cat. You would have to order the chassis with an ISM Cummins with a 410hp rating. This is the C 13 470

Downtown42 04-20-2008 07:21 AM

some reason my post from yesterday is gone...

I'll ck that Monday.... the 470 is a new rating, but it sounds like that may be the case.

bgchuby01 04-20-2008 08:20 AM

don'[t know about being a new rating. its a 2009 C-13 470hp. I think the torque is either 1550 or 1650

BUIZILLA 04-20-2008 08:54 AM

if you look closely, you'll notice the 470 is a sequential twin stacked turbo..

yup, twins, just like Clay likes 'em, hot and stacked... :)

Downtown42 04-20-2008 01:28 PM

Twin sounds cool on the internet, but when 1 goes now you have double the bill. :(Cummins uses 1 turbo :D

BUIZILLA 04-20-2008 04:12 PM

are you familiar with the 444 Cummins twin turbo??

Downtown42 04-21-2008 12:22 PM

444 is/was a leaf burner and not very popular for resale in the old days. Late 80's (?) was discontinued.

that is the case...Allison 4500 only goes to 1550 torque and the 470 rating is 1650.

Error on my part...Allison will do 1650 torque max and 550hp max.

bgchuby01 05-16-2008 06:18 PM

yea but the price of the allison must be pretty high

Downtown42 05-16-2008 07:15 PM

double :evilb:

Allison 23,400 list vs 12,000...about .70 real net money

bgchuby01 05-16-2008 09:05 PM

if money is not an object, the allison is always the way to go but the price is crazy
