Here is the bed cover. It is the electric Bed Locker from Pace Edwards. It has the "sport rails" so that we can add a safari rack, bike rack, cross bars, luggage cases or anything else over the top of the bed without interfering with the function of the bed cover. The good thing is that all you have to do is push a button to release the attachments and they are gone until you need them. Here is a picture of the cross bars in place.

Here are some shots of the rear fuel tank, the fill neck and the gauge in the cab. It is a 40 gallon tank from Aero Tanks that mounts behind the axle in place of the spare tire. We had our Ford dealer replace the factory tank with a 60 gallon Transfer Flow tank when the truck was new. Now with this rear tank we can carry 100 gallons of fuel.

We ordered the rear tank from Aero Tanks because they are the only ones making this tank for a 2008, but I did not like their transfer system that used a manual timer to transfer fuel. For this reason, I called ATTA, the company that made the tank/tool box combo in the bed, and got their "freedom fill" system with a custom sending unit to fit the tank that Aero Tanks built.

So far this setup has worked flawlessly. The system from ATTA automatically transfers fuel from the rear tank to the front, main tank as needed. No action is required from the driver at all. When the rear tank is empty the system shuts off by itself too.

Some people that have seen the truck questioned my decision to remove the factory spare tire. My opinion is that it is useless now anyway because of the size of the new tires. Besides, on a dually you always have two spare tires on the rear axle that can be used to get you off the road in an pinch.

Some of you may have noticed that the rear fender liners are not permanently mounted yet. That is because we are still waiting for the wider fender liners that go with new rear fenders. We ordered the liners at the same time we ordered the fenders (September) and they are still on backorder from the manufacturer, Street Scene. In the mean time I didn't want to go without liners for fear that a rock or something may come off the tires and damage the fender, so we did a temporary install with the factory liners. They don't cover the entire width of the fender, but they do cover the tread width of the tire. At this rate I feel like I'll be lucky to have the correct liners here by summer!!

I posted a video showing the lighting we added to the truck, but it takes a while to load because it is pretty long. I don't have a picture of the bed lights, but here are the lights we mounted on the side of the truck. They are the same marker lights used on the rear dually fenders, only smoked so that they disappear into the black background when they are not on. By using the same lights all the way down the side, it looks nice and uniform at night. Almost like it was built that way.

I believe the only thing left is the finished rear bumper. Since the pics of the whole truck were posted, I have added Line-X to the step areas of the rear bumper. It looked clean all in white, but it would have scratched and would have eventually started to look bad with use. It was also extremely slippery before we added the Line-X.

OK, I guess it wouldn't be fair if I didn't post a picture of the finished truck with the boat. I mean, this is a boating web site, right?

Oh yea, before you all start in about the lack of tie downs, we took them off before shooting the pictures. I took the boat to the end of the road in my neighborhood so that the company that made the cover could shoot some pictures of it for a contest they are entering. And yes, the tie downs did go back on before the boat went down the road again.
