50 grand truck Plus new

Downtown42 09-21-2008 07:36 AM

hi Jeff hope all is well...

I saw a banner at dealers lot " 2008 Rams 40% off"

unsure of details.

northernoffshore 09-21-2008 08:32 AM

they are giving trucks away at the dealers in so. fl.

bowtie 09-21-2008 08:42 AM

Are they really giving them away? Thats a good deal. I just paid 48,000 for an 08 F450. They had rebates but didn't even want to talk about lowering the price. They said production on the 09's is being delayed until at least Oct. so the only duallys they have to sell are on the lots. They had to get mine from a dealer in New York. There was 7500.00 in rebates or 0 percent financing, which I went for.

Dealer or private owner?

If private, he could owe 37K if he bought it new for sticker and doesn't have 10K to send along to the bank with your money. If dealer he should realize you can buy it new for 37K.....

JPD Motorsports 09-21-2008 10:42 AM

dodge dealers in okc are 44% off msrp all dodges you can get into almost 50% off out the door.

PJDiesel 09-21-2008 10:47 AM

I'm not sure $27K is realistic, even considering current economic conditions.

$32K, maybe.......

What are the details of the truck, CTD, which package?

you can not buy any new 51-53k sticker 1 ton dually from any of the manufacture's for 37k..including any and all discounts, employee pricing as such.

Dodge has 44% off msrp on the 08 1500 truck...their 09 is completely redone and is due out any week..that's the reason for the pricing.

Bet you could find one in the high thirties sitting on the lot as a new 07/08.

Check ebay: search 2008 diesel 3500 and see what you can buy new for high 30's

50K MSRP Dodge for sale new 36,990: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...=p4506.c0.m245

Didn't know Dodge's were assembled in Mexico, just another reason to buy GM's. All the diesels are still made in Flint, MI.

do you really think they were trying to make 10k off of you....they didn't counter offer because you made a unrealistic first offer....then they laughed at you when you left...

Agree the truck will pull that but you are not legal and if something happens your insurance company does not have to pay.

stainless 09-21-2008 07:13 PM

according to the dealership owner it goes by the gross combined weight rating of the vehicle, and if you uprate the hitch you should be good.

In Missouri they seem to be going for right around 34-36k depending on package etc. 27k is a bit of a stretch but then again you don't ever get anything if you don't ask. I am surprised they didn't try and hit you back in the middle around 32k or so. I have been shopping as well and you can get a lot truck at the moment for 35k. I have a good friend that just picked up an 08 chevy 2500, duramax crewcab for under 35k as well.

Unfortunately for me, my wifes transmission is going out in her 540 so she just got a new X5 and I am still without a new truck.

Let us know what you end up finding..

After I left there I got quoted 36900 for a new 08 Dodge
with a sticker of 49200 and 44k for one loaded leather navigation etc that had a sticker of 56400.
Would like all the goodies but don't really need them so just have to decide which on I want

That is about what I have found. The bells and whistles obvisouly change things a bit. I have been quoted under 35k for a barebones 08. One thing to keep in mind is that I am in St. Louis and we have a large Chrysler plant here and as a result I am sure the transport fees and such are probably non-existant.

Post up some pics once you find one.

pachanga 09-22-2008 10:20 AM

Dodge Dealer here is offering all 3/4 and 1 ton trucks @ $10,000 off plus a $5,000 fuel card.

Scott Evans 770-834-5050 They are in Carrollton,Ga.

.

Not sure about less destination charges for dealers closer to the manufacturing plants. This would be an advantage for those dealers able to charge less money to the same customer. I believe all dealers in the same region pay the set fee, no matter how close or far away you are from the plant.

We have customers that want to pick up a new Kenworth and try to save the 1800. destination charge, per vehicle. They are ok to transport themselves, but still have to cough up the set fee.

getchasum111 09-22-2008 02:04 PM

it doesn't matter if you are on the next corner from the plant or not the destination charges are on the sticker and will be the same for any vehicle in that region...

Yeh one of the guys we know just grabbed a new Denali for about 25K cash, went in made cash offer ad they took it. And Hummers are just sitting, its like row after row of H2s, can't even give them away.

kfvintx 09-22-2008 04:06 PM

Local Dodge dealer is having "buy 1, get 1 free" on new trucks. Not sure of details and if on 3/4 and 1 ton but it is for half ton. A friend was looking at crew cab 1500 and free one was single cab 1500. Plus they were discounting from the sticker. Dodge is doing everything they can to get rid of '08's before the new '09's hit the lots.

It is one of the following:

A. Not a Denali but a lightly equipped Yukon
B. Used, not new
C. His buddy forgot to mention the trade included with the 25K
D. His buddy lied

Quicksilver 09-23-2008 12:26 AM

I'll have to find out but I know he didn't trade, guy makes over 7 figs and buys all vehicles cash. Def a standard wheelbase Denali as I came by their office the other day. Might have been a dealer demo, but all I know is he told me new.

Jupiter Sunsation 09-23-2008 06:50 AM

Off the GMC site:
2008 GMC Yukon Denali 2WD
(Select a different vehicle)

MSRP: $47,385.00
Employee Price: $42,189.23
Total Cash Back: $5,000.00
Your Price: $37,189.23*

Knocking another 12K off that on a new vehicle even a demo seems to be a long shot.......

Looks like a Jassman backpeddle to me! :drink:

The original challenge was a new one ton with a 51-53K MSRP for 37K. Ebay had several from each of the big three.
Here is a 49K one for 37K right here on OSO.

Wait til I start looking for those 43 NT/ 700 boats....... I think they must be down to 250K as a new demo boat :ernaehrung004:

hammer01 09-23-2008 10:57 AM

I think Jass meant in his post that there are not the loaded 55K duallies, etc. for mid 30's and upper 20's as people are talking about. I do know you can buy bare bones, not loaded Chevy crew cab 3500's for around 37k but not the loaded up stuff. My buddy showed me his true cost after rebates and that is less than he can pay!!!! The used market and auction market is underwater right now but I heard from the recent 3 weeks of auctions that the prices are getting stronger with winter, etc. Just from what he told me. Things are definitely softer but regardless a 49K truck here for 37k is a far leap from a $56k loaded one for $37k. Not disputing anyone, just still crying over my 07 denali loaded that was $56k sticker new that is worth upper $20's now, I hope!!!

new is 09..not 08..(already have an 08, and it's a year old) and still 49k list is not 51-53k list for 37k buy..no back peddle..I buy 2-3 trucks a year... point proven..

secondly, have gotten ripped off on Ebay, plus no dealer support like if you bought it from the dealer. The good thing is I can walk right in on all three of the GM, Ford and Dodge dealerships, drop my truck off, sign a sheet of paper for ins. verification, go to the board, grab some keys, pick out a late model used truck or demo and go to work. When I bring it back I put back all the gas I used and then some, and tell them what I thought needs to be looked at if anything. Simple and super convient. Works for Me.:cool-smiley-011:
