Hitch Wiring 04 Chevy 2500
A buddy was going on today about how the Chevy plug fails or goes bad... Like a weak ground that causes trailer lights to go dim. Apparently a friend of a friend says they fail all the time and that you need to replace the part of the plug from the weather pack back to the female plug which is all one piece I think??
My lights are dim and it's not any problem on the trailer itself. Verified by simply trying another truck it the trailer lights up just perfect.
thanx

Check the pin receptacles on the plug (the 6 sided thing that the plugs into the truck and the trailer 4 plug goes into the other end). If the slots are bent out of the way they won't make connection/ grease ones that are tight so that they won't bend next time you plug in. Have had that as the light problem several times in several trucks.
