Help with a 2009 2500HD w/ ITBC
Does anyone have any experience w/ Chevrolets (ITBC) Intergrated Trailer Brake Controller? I'm towing a Skater Trailer w/ Carlisle Electric over Hydraulic brakes. The signals, flashers, brake & running lights all work but absolutely no power to the brakes.
According to the owners manual the factory installed option is 100% ready to use, nothing to hook up under the dash or hood like you would w/ an aftermarket controller. |
unless gm changed something ,the factory controler cant work elec over hyd brakes with out modifying the trailer to ''ping'' so the truck knows
|
The manual says it only works w/ Elec brakes, what I don't understand is how it knows whether it's full electric or electric over hyd as they are both elec initially.
Then again I'm no electrician! |
Micheal, I had to rig an additional controller for my DCB/Extreme trailer to run the EOH brakes,,,Tom

You will have to do that. There is a GM bulletin that tells you how to wire it. if you need the bulletin, I will email it to you.

I got it, Thank you! Disappointed I have to install my aftermarket unit. Good thing this is a company truck or I'd be PO'd.
