Default Help with a 2009 2500HD w/ ITBC

Does anyone have any experience w/ Chevrolets (ITBC) Intergrated Trailer Brake Controller? I'm towing a Skater Trailer w/ Carlisle Electric over Hydraulic brakes. The signals, flashers, brake & running lights all work but absolutely no power to the brakes.

According to the owners manual the factory installed option is 100% ready to use, nothing to hook up under the dash or hood like you would w/ an aftermarket controller.

The manual says it only works w/ Elec brakes, what I don't understand is how it knows whether it's full electric or electric over hyd as they are both elec initially.

Then again I'm no electrician!

And thats certainly an option, GM says disconnect factory unit & wire up the aftermarket. I'll be disappointed if thats the case.

You will have to do that. There is a GM bulletin that tells you how to wire it. if you need the bulletin, I will email it to you.

Charlie,

Please do. I have the bulletin on how to wire to a GM vehicle WITHOUT the ITBC but not one for vehicles with.

Thanks

Michael

I got it, Thank you! Disappointed I have to install my aftermarket unit. Good thing this is a company truck or I'd be PO'd.
