Default Bias Ply or Radials?

I'm replacing trailer tires, & I was asked why I didn't want to run Bias Ply tires. I really didn't have a good answer, & it got me wondering what the difference is. I've just always been under the impression that Radials were just better for trailers, but I suppose I really don't know.
So, which is the better tire to run on boat trailers?

Bias ply, radial side walls will flex too much. In certain cases will let trailer sway.

From someone in the tire business, the only reason you'd buy a bias is because you can't afford a radial.

If you blow a radial there is a chance of tearing up your trailer and/or the side of your boat. Switched mine to bias ply after having a bad set of radials.

That is a good question. I also have been told to run radials but with no really good explanation.
