Default Cat Back Exhaust

I'm thinking about putting a cat back exhaust on my 6.0 has anybody picked up any performance or mpg by doing this?

I wonder how a cat back would compare in gains to a turbo back

The gain comes from the turbo back system, the cat back just helps the sound.

I have a turbo back on my 6.0... and noticed about 1-1.5mpg increase. But after I added the tuner, respectively about an overall 3/4 mpg increase at freeway speeds, and about 2mpg city driving.

I think the exhaust alone, doesnt help performance too much, especially down low, with the lack of backpressure, but the addition of a tuner, is very nice, and makes the power gains totally different.

I ran a Magnaflow turbo back, and the other highly recommended one for the 6.0 is a MBRP, 4" with 3.5" downpipe, and nice polished tip.

And, about a 250 Degree drop in EGT while towing, that is very nice also!

This is the kit I have: http://www.innovativediesel.com/_e/E...bing_15956.htm

MBRP is great sounds badass, the exhaust will help but not a lot by itself, when done in combo with a custom tune thats where the power and mileage gains are.

Turbo back systems are usually good for anywhere from 200 to 250 degrees of EGT drop, depending on how plugged up your cat was when you removed it. Mine only dropped 200 degrees but the truck was BRAND new(went from the dealer to my shop and got modded) On my 08 I did the Spartan Dash Daq tuner, Flo Pro Cat/dpf delete back 4" system and an AFE Stage II air intake system. On my 06 dually I did a Basanni 4" turbo back system, an Edge with Attitude programmer and an AirAid intake system,,again while the truck was new.
