I have found no need to up tune my 6.4 f450. It tows my boat fine the way it is.

Some like the extra power, nothing like being in one of these beast and getting crushed to the seat with the extra torque :drink: , and the way better mileage.

I have a big, heavy boat and trailer that I used to tow with a big truck. I like the f450 much better (ride, noise, manueverability,etc.). It tows great. I have modified diesels in the past but I worry about whipping that little diesel under a big load costing me significant longevity

They usually tune with different settings (low, high, tow etc all different parameters). These 6.4's wake up like a mofo when tuned correctly, friends 450 has the Sparten tune and DPF delete (which also rids of Regen) and that big ass truck just flat out hauls ass now lol. Just took it out the other day when he was over doing some electrical work. I don't know the mileage increase on the 450, but on the other 6.4's its a night and day difference.

For those that were asking about the DPF delete kits and tunes.

This is by far the best setup for the DPF Delete on the 6.4L from ford.

SCT has custom tuning as well now.

I would recommend SCT over anything for the 6.0. But from what all my 6.4 buddies have been saying, and the guys over at TDG (the diesel garage) spartan has DPF delete tune down pretty good.

I have SCT on my 6.0 and love it!!!!!

SCT is great with the 6.0, but on the 6.4 Spartan hands down.
