Like the big brakes and looks of the Ford. Like the Allison and Duramax engine of the GM. I am a Ford guy though.

You sold a F-450 and you would consider another one??????? You must own a LOT of stock in gas companies. Buy the Chevy, no brainer.

I like the look of the new fords, but everyone I know that has one gets terrible mileage. I know several poeple that have 450's for horse trailers and all are getting 9-10mpgs. The Duramax/Ally combo is hard to beat, and I have grown to like the look of the GMC front end more.

When I first saw them I thought "well maybe I will like it eventually" - I still can't stand it.

I've had very good luck with the F450. There was just a recall to re-flash the computer for milage and now it's getting over 12 mpg. Still not great but better and that's with a 4.88 rear. Going over 70 reduces it to about 10 mpg but I rarely drive it that fast.
I have a big heavy boat and it pulls great. A good friend of mine has a new GMC 3500 duramax/allison and we have towed with it. If your apache is heavy (which I'm sure it is) and you were disappointed with the F450, you won't like the GM. The 3500 barely makes it up hills in Wisconsin (which aren't that steep) with my boat/trailer and it is way over the tow rating.

I have a 450 with the 4.30s and did the dpf delete and mpg went up about 80%. Made all the difference.
