You better HOPE you don't take it to the dealer again, because if you CHANGE anything they will void your warranty.

We could spend all day debating the magnuson-moss warranty act, but that would be little more than an exercise. As long as you arent going in for any engine warranty work you are fine. B/c nothing under the hood has anything to do with anything else on the truck. Besides, the bulk of the warranty claims are caused by faulty DPF units boogering up the computer. Get rid of the DPF and EGR and, in theory, you arent at the dealer for any engine issues.

Key words here..."in theory". But if any one of the other sensors or hundreds of parts goes out on the engine or transmission under warranty and the DPF is gone and you have put an aftermarket program in place of the original ECM program theres a 99.9999% chance, they'll deny you.

On the other hand, alot of problems are the DPF codes, low fuel milage etc etc...so if your looking for reliability and fuel milage with extra pulling power over "maybe i'll need the warranty" id delete it.

In an ideal world, if something did go wrong, you could unbolt the aftermarket DPF delete exhaust and install factory stuff. Then reload the ECM with the factory settings...and hopefully leaving no codes from the programer for the dealer to find.
