Still had paper in the trunk and plastic on the rear seat, garage kept all it's life. Puting it back on the road was the worst thing that could have happened. Mechanically it fell apart. Leaks seals, trans. Everything rubber on it was at it's life's expectancy and was either cracked, split or leaking after it was flexed from driving. It still looks great but I couldn't give it away mechanically. Buyer beware.

A friend of mine bought an older T/bird with just about no miles on it a little while back, same problem,,it started with the heater core, then vacum lines/hoses, engine and trans seals,,and on and on and on.

Thanks Dave I think it may be worth a little more but not the $13.5K he thinks. I don't want or need the truck and was looking for a honest value for trade purposes so I would know what I could sell the truck for.

Call me I'll make you a great deal. I have too much going on and too many toys and just don't need it. I feel when I actually put it on the market that it will sell quick.

I'm not sure about the tranny but I really hate the stupid gauge setup on that model.

Yeah I agree. A well used and very well maintained vehicle is better than one that has been stored.

I agree, Mark you know about my 87 GMC and it has been one thing after another to fix and tweak since I got it back from my grandfather and it only has 43k miles. It just seems that from sitting so much there was a lot of dryrot and weathering that has set in.

Unlike my '87 the 1988 trucks are really not special at all and I would guess the 4-5K price range would be all over that thing.

It has taken a lot of work to keep my '87 looking like this and in top shape to drive every day. It still needs more and if it did not have the sentimental value it does (been in family since new), I would sell it.

many people are very proud of those 88-98 style chevys. i had a 98 sierra in perfect condition that i sold with 176k on it for $8300 and that was pushing it. the guy really liked it. everyhting worked as new. but you said the air was warm. that is an old r-12 system and after a retro-fit it will never cool like it did from the factory.
