Default Ford PSD

I have a 06 PSD, haven't had any problems , but I only have 42,000 on it. Ready to buy a new truck, but I don't want anything out on the market now, fuel mileage sucks. Don't want the first year on any new model. Ford says they have over 250,000 test miles on this new engine, they also said that about the 6.0 and 6.4. They need to give us some of the trucks to test in the real world, towing a Top Gun on 90+ degree days, not riding on a test track or around town. Hope this new engine works out, gives good fuel mileage.

I agree with all this. The hp is nice but the key to a diesel is TORQUE AND THIS MOTOR HAS IT!!

Great job Ford!!

It looks alittle too "out there" for me. I got a feeling this engine will be a ringer...really it has to be; Ford lost alot of HD truck momentum since the early 6.0's . The 6.4 while much better needed to best the competition, and at best it may have only equaled it, so Ford had to sever their ties with Navistar. Too bad really, it was Navistar that brought Ford into HD truck dominence, now that Ford has had the best HD truck, they have not had the best diesel. Buy American.(and yes, my living is bolstered by the US automakers) Take Care, Dave

I should also mention, there were MANY doubters with the introduction of the Torqueshift transmission which has proven itself especially robust.
