ok so this thread has us talking about two motors. Now for the 6.0 I feel the SCT is the best. When it comes to the 6.4 I haven't looked much into it, but I have heard Spartan is a good one for that motor making lots of power.

My 08 6.4 I left stock..got tired of trying to make a truck my fast car..
so when you put the studs in did you have them adjust the tune any? I have the sct, new intercooler, new intake elbow, bigger exhaust without that other stuff. Just did the head studs now. I haven't run the truck at the track, though with the 4.30 gears it should run, unless it tops out before the end..

I've been wanting to trade out my 02 7.3 for a 05 or 06 Harley , or at least an all black one. I have no issues with the current truck , I just cant get over wanting a Harley ....All Black or with ghost flames.
I pretty much only use the truck for the boat, so i would not put but 3 to 5000 miles on it a year anyway , just don't want any issues.
So you guys are giving some pretty good advice here .

"They" will jump my s$%& for saying this, but don't get rid of your 7.3L PSD.

I feel as though they are akin the last of the serious muscle/sedan big block motors of the early 70s; then all the smog stuff came into play and modern turbo-diesels will never be the same; just like the BBs.

sorry , really didnt meant to shoplift the thread.

Maybe your right , I should just man up and pay for a Harley interior , thats the part i really love . My 08 f150 fx4 has all black and I love it. Honestly with the addition of that and the upgraded Harley front end I would probaly be happy. I really do think the 7.3's are close to bullet proof. I have a hot shot driver that serves us , and he claims he has never done anything major to his , and it had 747,000 on it the last time he was here. We had a 97 powerstroke as a shop truck and before it was sold it had over 350k , no major work.
