My brothers 07 was fine untill they got over 100k on it.

Then it started to need injectors all the time.

After 1 year and ten thousand in repairs they got rid of it.

They should last longer then that IMO

I had an 06 F-350 dually. Never once in the shop. Got rid of it with 20K miles for an 08 F 450. Biggest mistake of my life. Got rid of the 450, and now am looking to get another 06-07 350 again, just can't find one the way I want it with low miles on it.

My F-350 4x4 Lariat 06 is a hauler only trcuk, (22,000) miles, sits in the driveway, start and run it about once a month, had a turbo code pop up while in Hilton head last fall, Ford replaced it in 3 days, haven't had any other problems. i like the truck, and keep my diesels 8-10 years before I get a new one, so this one has 6 more years of being mine.

I have an '05 Crew Cab Dually 4x4 with the 6.0. It has 170,000 miles on the truck. Just stock. Most of the poor 6.0 stories were from the early 03's and 04's. And usually modified. Depends on what you are looking for. I am towing a Cig Top Gun.

correct..most get modded..blown head gaskets cause we are trying to make a 8000 pound truck our sports car...it just wont last that way.. I had 210k on my 05 6.0 with just a SCT tow tune and the truck pulled almost 8-11k every day of its life..I have 2 others with over 140 and 160k on them and a duramax as well with 130k.

Yes, they get a programmer, turn it up to stupid and then wonder why sh*t breaks. Keep it stock, maybe exhaust and you should be fine.

Yep. Another reason there are so many horror stories is due to the fact that there are sooooooooo many 6.0s out there.

Far more with no issues than those with issues.

I also love my 06 6.0 F350 crew cab 4x4 single rear wheels. Best of 21.9 mpg highway unloaded at 60, about 17.5 at 70. High EGT's kill the 6.0L, typically caused by a tuner, like others here have said. Mine has dual straight pipes but otherwise stock. Coolant filter is a good preventive measurement to save the oil cooler and EGR cooler.
