Great looking rig Top!! :cool-smiley-027: :Score-101010:

Trailer looks more like it was built for a 27 ft boat that a 31. I agree with those above that you'd like to have at least 1000 lbs or more tongue weight..............typically shoot for 10% if possible. Now that you have the trailer I guess if you have the weight capacity you could always add a ballast tank filled with water up on the tongue........it would have to be pretty big though, you'll need around 100 gallons to get near your 10% figuring you only have 280 lbs now. If you wanted to be slick about it you could rig up a pump to also use for wash downs or engine flushing at the ramp although I guess you might use up all your tongue weight doing that :)

LOL that's the weirdest fix for tongue weight I've ever heard. :angry-smiley-044:

That trailer looks way to small for that boat.

2008 Myco

Scrap that little trailer, Even if you move the axles you will still have a trailer that looks to short for your Cig. I have this 2008 Aluminum Myco for sale that is set up for a 32 V bottom Velocity. 2008 15000# 16" tires TRIPLE axle, surge disk on two axles/drive guard/twin spares with covers/ twin SS tool boxes/bow ladder/12 bunks/ fenders/winch/tongue lift and bow stop painted yellow. Cost 18K selling for 12.5K and never in salt. Remember "Pull it in style"

Wayne - I know this isn't what you want to hear but I also think that trailer is way too small in all aspects - length, and size of the I-beams. I ordered mine through HI-TECH and they called me when they realized the weight of a CIG and told me they were going to have to upgrade I-Beams.
BUT - to your original question - what about adjusting your hitch height? Not a good solution but MIGHT get you some more tongue weight. |
Trailer....too small

Sorry Wayne, but you got screwed on that trailer.
Who built it? They have no idea what they are doing. |
The bunks should fully support the transom and have trailer beams under them. The trailer is too short, sorry. You need a longer trailer.

Hard to tell from your picture but could you remove axle #1 and leave #2 and #3 in place then put #1 behind axle #3 essentially making only one new set of holes in your trailer? The fender will have slide back a spot also but it would seem like the least amount of work.
I didn't realize a 31 Bullet got that heavy! How much did the trailer weigh? |
