I have an 05 with 100,000 miles and no problems. The lly's have had some problems with overheating. I pull heavy and often and never a heating problem of any kind. If the price is right buy it. Used duramax diesels are going at premium prices, and very hard to find.

2004.5-2006 harness rub
Just read this in a diesel mag. The injector wiring harness on LLY engines is zip-tied to a metal flange next to the alternator. The problem is that the harness loom stops too short, leaving just a thin layer of protective material between the flange and the wire inside.
The best fix is to cut the zip tie and wrap the harness with more wire loom or a chunk of rubber hose-anything that can act as a guard between metal and wire-and zip tie it against the metal flange.
