06 Dodge Cummins
#1
I'm looking at an 06 Dodge 2500 with a Cummins right now. I'm not current on this engine and truck. Is there anyone here that can give me some info on this set up. I'm looking for both the good and bad. Thanks

I owned a quad cab dually with the G56 manual. Great truck had no problems with it whatsoever. That engine will make a lot of power and torque. Go to www.cumminsforum.com and read what other owners say about the Common Rail.

The good: it doesn't have a DPF (diesel particulate filter) that burns away your fuel. The engine has good reliable power.
The bad: the Dodge chassis needs more stability with loads. It is squirley and hard to keep in the lane in certain situations with wind and trucks passing. The bushings just don't hold up as well as others.
Still a workable option.

That may be true, but Dodge trucks are by far the preferred trucks in LTL hotshot hauling. Guys are willing to overlook chassis issues for the Cummins motor.
