I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have a '02 Excursion with the 7.3 and just recently as I was driving along the engine just cut out...I was able to restart it and continue on.
It has happened 3 other times....could this be a fuel issue or electrical? Any ideas where to start looking would help. Thanks, Tom |

even though he figured it out! Another thought I had (just trying to throw out some easy stuff) is that there have been several threads on some of the websites about the IPR nut on the back of the IPR backing off and causing intermittent running issues. Would take seconds to check into that. |

so, go get to the dealer. you have a free CMP sensor and speed control mod comming your way. bet you a case of beer it takes care of it. these recalls are free of charge and when making an appointment have your vin handy and say you have the 07S57 and 09S09 open. they will take care of free of charge. go to a ford store not a lincoln mercury one.
