Thumbs down Hiring transportation

Beware of who you hire and make sure they provide you insurance and lading documents. I had the misfortune of being referred Randy Salter of American Marine, in North Carolina. He jack knifed my trailer and dumped my boat into a ditch. He then cut the trailer and ran, leaving my boat. Later to find he did not have insurance for the transport and leaving me to find my boat and retreive it myself. He is dishonest and not to be trusted. Thankfully its damage was only superficial, scratches and only needed drive replacements. Mark from MER Performance saved the day.

First chance to post on this. BAD DEAL! my customer just bought this boat a 47' Fountain. We did 3 weeks of work to it before Christmas, it was going to Acapulco. it was left somewhere close to Mexico City, in the ditch, off the trailer!I would like to give more details, but my customer may not want to comment on them. Well I went to Acapulco, and replaced drives and transom assemblies. It was beautiful there, stayed at my customers home, better than any resort. It was hard hot work, 4 days of it. My wife went with me, she is the one that had the vacation.

Wow, that's a horrific story. Did you find the guy? Lawsuit, or just take it out of his hide? Can't they haul him in for leaving the scene of an accident or something?

Dam I would find that guy and put him in a ditch just for the fun of it. There sure are a lot of scumbags out there.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
