Thinking about New Cummins
OK. So I have a 2009 Chrysler Aspen as my daily driver and a 2000 F350 V10 for my tow vehicle. Went to the Cincinnati car show last night thinking of selling the Aspen and going with something a little more fuel efficient as my daily driver. Looked at Lincoln MKT, Acura MDX, Lexus RX350. Usual suspects that are higher rated crossover types.
By the time I load the above vehicles up with toys, the $50K+ price tag made me throw up in my mouth a little. I then found my way over to the new RAM trucks. I was very impressed! More bells and whistles than my loaded Aspen. Better or at least no worse MPG. Less money than the crossovers and I could go from three vehicles to two. (insurance and registration is expensive in KY). Went and drove one this morning and was impressed again. Didin't even feel bigger than my Aspen behind the wheel. I'm not trying to start a Ford vs Chevy vs Ram thread. I like the options and layout of the RAM far more than the others. What kind of discount can I expect off sticker when I load out a 2011 2500 Laramie crew cab short bed that books around $55K? Also is there more of a price benefit to finding one off the lot vs ordering one exactly the way I want? Anyone know any trusted stealers in the Cincy area? Thanks, Tim |
Why would you trade the Aspen and not the Ford?? You don't need two tow vehicles.
Shop around, $55k sounds too high. |
55 is MSRP when I build it the way I want online (pretty much everything). I'm thinking actual cost will be more like 46??? I owe nothing on the Ford. I would sell it outright and trade in the Aspen. Going from two to one vehicle.

dealer in Oklahoma is offering 12k off right now, they have been as much as 15k off here....12k is incentive moneys it seems like.

Oklahoma is not so far from Ohio...

Im sure I can find a similar deal around here. I guess ill check with local dealer about ordering one exactly the way I want. What's it take? 7-8 weeks? Also see they have chrysler loyalty rebate and 2.9 for 60 months.

if possible, buy local and build up a repore with your dealer. Get your best price and give them an opportunity to earn your business. In the long haul it works well for me.. Good Luck Jeff

My buddy just bought a 2011 Ram 1500 and I think he was saying it was Dodge truck month or something. I think he did pretty good on it, said it was only a few grand less than what used trucks are selling for around here.

You will love the new dodge. The 1500 rides awesome, handles, and works all better then you would expect a truck to do. I love my new heavy duty cummins and my Dad loves his new 1500 Hemi! There are good deals out there right now. Have fun shopping!!

I agree on ordering what you want, plus the updated cummins is what will come in your new ordered truck with 800 ft/lbs of torque!!! Beefed up torque converter, shift points, engine dampener, increased hp throughout the entire curve. Still no urea injection in the 2011.5!!! Automatic only gets the increase but thats ok.
