Better check again. Look at the country code on the VIN. When I bought a Suburban, half of the ones I looked at were made in Mexico.
All of the GM diesels are still made in Flint. You are correct, GM is making some 1500's in Silag, Mexico. I have seen a car lot 1/2 Mexican made 1500's and 1/2 made in Texas so you do have to watch the window sticker because the trucks were identical. Volkswagen makes ALL VW Jettas/ Beetles in Mexico and Honda makes the CRV there. Ironically the VW IOS (looks like a Golf conv) is made in Portugal but the Golf is made in Wolfsburg. All Mercedes/BMW SUV's are made in the US (Alabama/South Carolina). New one I saw a few weeks ago, some BMW 3 series cars are made in South Africa! Guess the car business is global after all! :D |

All truck prices are high. I would like to get a new 2011 f350. But I'm not paying 60k. I'm sure I'll have a new one one day. I currently have a 08 f350 4x4 srw 6.4. It's been a great truck so far. Have 53k on it. Have only done pm's. Knock on wood! I have always bought ford trucks. If I didn't buy ford it would be GM. Never have been a fan of dodge trucks. Jmo

GM is superior to me but I'm bias. Ford has issues (not sure about the new scorpion) and dodges are too loud for me. Drive em.

Im definitely going to stick with GM... I love my silverado, but want more tow capacity. Even with a 25' boat, it tows okay, but im looking to get the 2500HD....

One thing that's great about screwing Americans out of jobs and benefits to get cheap third world labor, is you don't have to lower the product's cost. Who cares about passing along the savings to consumers? They'll never know anyway.

@capt2130 why don't you drive a Laramie Dodge 2500/3500, you might be surprised at their quality now.

Dodge will beat the teeth out. Ford is a little smoother. Chevy has a smooth ride and the only true heavy duty transmission if you get the Allison. Get it.
