buy EVERY filter form the dealer. They are the best. I cant believe what wix is stamping their name on these days. and if you have a 6.0 or 6.4 and your oil filter comes with a cap on it you have a problem. get a factory cap and use the ford filters that snap into your permanent cap. the ones that come with a cap have been proven to not properly depress the oil filter basin drain and bypass oil flow through the filter when the oil becomes hot. that is a 6.4 killer right there!

The other thing I would suggest to you sir is.... DON'T PUT A TUNER ON IT.
Leave the truck stock. It'll have way more power than you need...and in my opinion, your asking for trouble regardless of what some may tell you.
Your truck left stock >>>
Your truck with a "tuner" >>>

I agree. I've been the way of heavily modded diesels. And while I don't have any "horror" stories ,there were always small quirks, hiccups, or just frustrations during certain uses. Buy a stock truck and drive it.

I understand about the tuners, and don't really see the reason.
When you guys say factory for all filters, you mean air, fuel and oil? For oil I also have always used rottela synthetic in the 7.3.

With the known problems of that engine, I would only buy if it was a smoking price and you had a bunch of contingency money left over from the deal. Have you thought about resale when you go to sale? I would also consider having a dealer scan the computer, if the computer has been flashed a couple of times, and the flashes aren't noted in the service records, the other flashes are from a programmer. There is a good synopsis of the ford power stroke on Wikipedia. Family member just bought a 6.0 had injector replaced under 30 day warranty. Next injector about 90 days later cost him $1250. His truck has 36k miles. Be honest, I would just move on to a better engine. It's too much of a gamble for the reliability.

So do you consider the 6.4 a better engine? I have thought about resale, but I tend to keep things a long time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you know I have a 1996 now
And no I won't buy a Dodge, We took to many of their product apart at my last job and of all the manufactures, they were always the cheapest made. We also had the most problems out of our Dodge fleet, except the Caliber.
For what ever reason that thing never screwed up.
GM,,,,, seems I have known a lot that have injector problems with them to. What are good years for those trucks?

if its what you want WILDMAN just buy it , there are a zillion of these out there and some with 200,000 + miles and still going strong . have 3 of them and 2 have been flawless and 1 needed a few injectors and just changed an oil pump with the help of FIXXXER 22 .. other then buying a new one for twice the price and having a warranty she may be a GEM !

true go with what you want. You might want a dually but I have a 08 f250 which can be found for less than 30k and it pulls my 91 29 Fever which im betting is probably the same length as your 32 since mine is measured without swim platform. And that truck tows fine or even great. A 350 dually will tow better no doubt but your gas mileage will be in the toilet with or without towing.
