Why not go with the Cummins and get better fuel mileage...

This is not true any more. Actually it hasn't been true since the 3rd gen engines and trucks came out in 2003. I owned a 2003 3500 srw and never had one problem with anything on the truck. Beautiful blue cloth seats and Infinity sound system with steering wheel radio controls.

Even with the less powerful 305/555 motor it was quick off the line and tracked straight as an arrow. I wish I still had that truck.

I agree its not as true anymore. My problem with chrysler is this. They have almost gone un der twice now in the last 20 years, both times the GOVT saved them, twice is not due to bad luck. I will give them cummins, but their trannys NOPE. Right now to be honest the cummins is the weakest of the three

The new HO cummins 800 is by far better. And all three trans are close to equal 03 and newer.

I don't care about fuel mileage . I keep my trucks till they start giving me problem. Then I buy a new one. I've owned ford ,gmc, and the dodge just takes more abuse and last longer. I'm in construction I have allot of friends all different trucks. Gmc is good but expensive.
Ford has had allot of problems with there power stroke since they started messing with it. The old power stroke was great.I don't think ford is worth the price.

may be far better than it was, but the cuimmins is nothing to the Duramax or Ford the past couple years or even now.
