I've posted in the past about poor fuel milage and the same answer keeps appearing-DPF and EGR delete kit. My questions/concerns are:
1. Warranty- I think that the warranty issue has been touched on. From what I'm understanding is that it's up to the dealership whether or not this kit voids the warranty?
2. State Inspection- I live in PA. Diesel's don't get "sniff tested" but they do check to see if your vehicle is equipped with all the emissions crap that it came with from the factory. I'm sure that they'd notice the DPF missing from under the truck, so, are you guys puting them back on the truck for the yearly inspection?
3. ECM- If the DPF and EGR delete kit is used then does the ECM need reprogrammed?
4. Tuner- I'm assuming that a tuner is designed to be used on a vehicle that maintains all of the emission's eqipment that it came with. If removing the DPF and EGR requires the ECM to be reprogrammed (if that's true) then will the tuner still work? Obviously it must since some of you are using them with these delete kits so I guess my question is: what exactly needs to done to the vehicle to use a tuner on a vehicle that has had the DPF and EGR removed????????
By the way, the vehicle in question is a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with the 6.7 litre and 4.10 gears that is getting 13 mpg (mixed city/highway driving) empty/non-towing.
