I have towed with a 2011 450 Ford automatic . Very powerfull , luxurious and stable ride . Also towed with a loaded 2011 Dodge 4500 w/manual trans ( 4 sale on auto trader in VA ) . Not so fancy , not as fast , but felt very heavy duty like you could pull about anything .

My friend's Dodge has the man/trans to get the higher (26k ?) GVW rating on his 4500 . His truck is dressed up with a bumper winch and Alcoa wheels . It will also take a 4500 lb payload in the bed .
