2011 Ford F250 price

Read the other post with a ridiculously low price that someone supposedly got one for.

I have shopped 3 local Ford dealers and the best price I have gotten on a 2011 F-250 Crew Lariat diesel is 50,490 from a sticker of 58,740. Anyone else been shopping and care to compare?

Are you pricing X Plan?

A-plan is you or family work for Ford
Z-plan you or family retired from ford
X-plan, friend works for ford or you work someplace that build parts for ford.

If you buying a truck and own a business you can also get Comm. rebate up to $1000.00 for select upgrades to truck.

Info not needed, but I just put it out there so other people could understand. Send me a list of equipment and I can tell you the fax.

Picked up a 2011 250 Lariat diesel for $200 over invoice and no dealer fee. I think there was $4500 in rebates and incentives as well. Shopped for a while and it was the best deal I could find. Got it about 6 weeks so far and I love the truck!!!! I'm getting about 16 around town and it tows my 35 Fountain with no problem.

What was the final price, ballpark , if you dont mind ? Mid 40's, High 40's ,I dont know what actual invoice is for these trucks so cant tell if a 58 sticker to 50 k is a good deal or not. Looks about average so I expect they will get better the longer they sit. But then they also become harder to find the right one.

My sticker was $58,835.00. There were $4500 in rebates and incentives. I paid $49,576 plus tax. Dealer invoice was $53876 which included the "Dealer advertising fee" which is assessed to the dealer by Ford. This fee may be different depending on where you live. I'm not sure about now, but years ago it varied from region to region. Just ask to see their invoice. Most reputable dealers won't have a problem with that. Also be careful of any fees added on over and above the purchase price you agree to. Some dealers charge prep fees, advertising fees and the always popular "dealer fee". All of which are BS and should be negotiated off of your bottom line.

Look better? Not to me but that's okay. It looks too small to me. From what I understand, the longer the wheelbase is more stable when towing.

Makes sense I guess. The looks , I always thought the crew with the long bed looked to long. Haha , to each their own I guess. I will need to take another long bed look. Not real popular on the lots around here though.

Not just more stable, the longer wheelbase gives a better ride. And if you have a crew cab, it looks too stubby with the short bed.

Even worse, look at the Ram Megacab. Terrible. That's why there are three aftermarket companies doing 8 foot beds for it.

The only downside to a crew cab longbed is it won't fit in a standard garage.

The long bed also holds 11 more gallons of fuel. Mine only holds 26 gallons. Maneuvering the truck next to a fuel pump with nearly 40ft of boat and trailer can be a real PITA so the less stops the better. On the down side, my friend's long bed seems to have a larger turning radius and is less maneuverable than my short bed. The other down side of the long bed is finding one loaded with options...... there were no 2011 leftovers near me.

Jupiter Sunsation 09-28-2011 02:22 AM

Here is a local Ford store that is "one price" and they don't charge dealer fees: http://www.mullinaxford.com/inventor...per+duty+f-250

You can use this as a reference point since they show the MSRP and their "one price" discount. If you figure they have a fixed price margin built in your local dealer should be able to take a mini deal and beat the advertised price.

They have diesel duallies for less than 50K.....

aquaforce 09-28-2011 05:52 AM

If you are bumper towing the long bed, with a longer frame, has more tow rating and stability. Turn radius and cosmetics will not affect your safety like stability and control will.

Now that I've gone long bed and reaped the benefits of both tow stability and loading space I don't see me ever going short again unless it is a 1/2 ton.

smoker62 09-28-2011 06:14 AM

Good suggestions on why the long bed. I really like the fuel capacity difference. Never even thought of that.

Thanks guys. I may start a search for a long bed and see what I can find.

Neverfastenuf 09-28-2011 10:06 AM

Long bed if you are towing and hauling the majority of the time. Most people don't use there truck just for hauling and towing. The short bed is MUCH easier to park and such. As far as ride, there is no discernable difference. I was in a real quandry regarding the two. After driving both, and knowing it would be for general all around transportation, not just towing, I ended up with the short bed.

And price. Sticker was around 62K and I purchased it for 53K. I felt I got a good deal. You hear of all sorts of $$$ out there, but when it came down to it this seemed to be what the more realistic discounted prices were.

Cant find any long beds that are comparably equipped . I notice on this one it has an option call "upfitter switches" and also this is the only one I have found that has dual alternators. Can anyone shed some light on both of these items and why they benefit the truck?

Update: Sales called me today , with the x-plan price.
Sticker 58,740.00
Previously quoted 50,490.00
x-plan 48,567.00
That seems to be a pretty good deal from others I have found local.

The "upfitter switches" are dash mounted switches that are pre-wired for any accessories you add yourself. The dual alternators aren't warranted in my case because I don't use high draw accessories. IMO....... If you have a large inverter, stereo or anything that draws heavy amps on a continuous basis, it may be worth it.

I guess the dual alt are already on it so whats the diff to me right. There if I need them I guess. Not sure what I would ever need them for . The switches not sure about. But this one is the best one I have found. No long beds equipped with what I want so far. Hard to find the 172" .

What was your window sticker $ ? . The deal I am looking at does noit have the Nav or sunroof. Not a big deal as I use my Garmin. The sunroof would be nice I guess but not a deal breaker. The 2011 models are getting slim pickings.

BBB725 09-29-2011 07:02 AM

A couple of things I did to lower the price some more, I'm a member of AQHA( American quarter horse association) $500 off after your best deal and took the financing from ford and got another $1000 off bottom line ended up about where you are with mine

YellowFever 09-29-2011 07:06 AM

I'll find the sticker and let you know. The nav and sunroof didn't matter to me either. They had 8 trucks left half 2x4,left 4 to pick from. 2 long beds , one copper color. I got white with tan trim.

Nav has the back up cam, which is great if you tow a lot.

This one has the backup cam but it pops up in the rear view mirror. Has the green, yellow ,red zones and the warning chime. Cool feature, never had one before. Looks like it will help when backing up to the hitch but dont see how it would help once your trailer is connected.

Wildman_grafix 09-29-2011 07:41 AM

I like long beds so if I put 4x8 sheets in I can close the tail gate. That said I have not seen a 4 door long bed in the 2011 with SRW.

GatorDave 09-29-2011 08:31 AM

I purchased a short bed XLT about 6 weeks ago. $3,500 in rebates and $5,000 off for a total of $8,500 off of the sticker. Sticker was $53 if I recall correctly. I'm happy with the deal and the truck!

My reason for the short bed was the same as others. It's my daily driver and it's much easier to live with than the longbed.

You may reconsider the Nav unit. Fords Sync with Nav really works well. It is one feature, after having it now for a while, I would absolutely deem a requirement on a Ford vehicle.

Too bad you aren't closer to our dealerships. Quite a few 172" trucks to be had. The short bed seems to be the popular ones around here.

smoker62 09-29-2011 12:01 PM
