Freightliner P2 Info
I am looking at a 2007 Freightliner P2 with the MBE900 Engine and has 130,000 miles in excellent condition. Has anybody any experience in this truck ?

Are you sure it's the MBE900?

Thats what was listed and it was rated for 30k pulling power. I will ask them to double check the motor specs. Seems a bit low.

Personally, I would pass on this engine and get a P2 with either the CAT C7 or the Cummins. We had a 2007 Sportchassis with the MBE900 (330 hp) and it lived in the shop. It was one thing after another, injectors, low oil pressure, new main and rod bearings, egr cooler, fuel leaks, etc. Maintenance was done with an open checkbook and beyond the manufacturers specs and we still couldn't keep it on the road. The truck was sold to get a 2006 with the CAT (last year offered) and this truck has been trouble free. Maybe we had a lemon, but after talking with the mechanics at multiple shops, they all spoke very poorly of the Mercedes.

We have that motor in both our M2 Straight trucks. The 330hp is plenty sufficient because of the gearing and tranny. You'll love that setup. Weve had zero issues with ours and one is over 300k miles now.

Great to hear. I pulled the service records and no major issue with this one. So putting offer in on it now. Thank you for the input.
