Red....

I color matched the purple from my boat to my new trailer (perfect match, easy to do) and it looks awesome, much better than with the previous all white trailer......couldnt be happier

 'ya think?

a stout frame mount reciever, solid steel drawbar and tool steel 25K ball would work and you'll have a bit less in that than the difference to go 5th on the trailer build (got 'bout $300 in these pieces myself)
+ trailer, or even package resale...

I have a heavy duty frame mounted hitch, I didn't mean the bumper literally. This is just a lot of weight to pull off the back without a dually.

Red will make the boat stand out an match. Never white an blacks to much for the colors on your boat. Your rigs going to look great.

If you look not many trucks are rated to pull 15K conventionally, looking at the ratings for the 2012 Super Duties a F350/F250 SRW is rated at 14K, F350 DRW rated at 17500.

5th wheel or goose neck raises that to 15,700 for the SRW and 21,500 for the DRW.

GMC is 13K/ 16,800 for SRW and 17K / 22,300 for DRW.

For heavy towing 5th/ goose neck rules.

When Offshore is saying he is pulling a very heavy 50” trailer with his SRW it’s not off the back of the truck. There is a reason for that.

I agree with the towing capacities, I already pull 5th wheel and it rules for heavy weights. I was just responding to the suggestions to build a conventional trailer.

i think 15k is a little to much for that truck period

No offense, but I would WAY rather pull 15k off the bed of a 3/4 before I would pull 10k off the back of a 1/2 ton.

soldier4402 12-18-2011 07:29 PM

i guess but at 10k in a 1/2 ton your still in within specs. Im not so sure 15k on a 3/4 ton is within specs even on a 5th wheel and if its your pushing the limits just as much as 10k on a half ton.
