Trailer Color
I'm having a steel trailer built for this 382 and having a hard time picking the color. It will be a 5th wheel trailer with drive guards. I want to stick with a solid color for cost. Debating between black and red, any advise?

What color is the tow vehicle?
|
Truck is black, but I'm sure I'll have the boat longer than the truck...
|
I vote red.
|
+1 on the red, I don't see black helping out the overall look.
|
I vote black. Black trailer makes you notice the boat. White trailer makes you notice the trailer and the boat.
However I would build an aluminum trailer, especially if I were building one that nice and that expensive. You resale target buyer is very, very, very small with that kind of money wrapped up in a trailer that you can only use in so many places. Plus, if you have a trailer that nice, you might as well make some trips, like to FLorida! What are you towing with? Wouldn't the weight savings be worth it as well? |
a black trailer is as big a PITA to keep nice as a black vehicle
I know I own one...Eagle Premier. I've also had red (Eagle) Two whites (Eagles) and an aluminum Aluminum is easy to own maybe a little harder to buy? Red would look fantastic under that boat, it will stand out just fine on red (more than you think) |
red, black will be to much on a white boat, plust the fact of keeping it looking nice and fading.

Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like most votes are for red.
It will be used strictly in the great lakes, and I won't be towing far so weight savings won't be a huge factor. If I ever ended up in salt water, I would just have a marina drop it in. Tow vehicle is a 2500HD Duramax, which is why I'm going 5th wheel for a boat this heavy. Thanks guys! |
