Nissan GTR vs "skyline"???
What is a Nissan skyline?
I came across what looked like the GTR/370 a week ago but it said "skyline" across the rear above the plates. It was definitely a turbo as I could hear it spool up as the guy tried to pull me (which he could not in 3 tries from 75-110).....that turbo spooling up is what I used as a guide of when to punch it and pulled him fairly easily each time.
If it was a real GTR I never should have been able to outrun him in my slightly modified SRT-8.

Nissan Skyline GT-R. Same deal. Not sure about your question. Are you asking about the present Skyline GT-R R35, or the Skylines of the past. The present GT-R is the Nissan Skline GT-R R35 V-Spec. I think they still call it a Skyline in Japan. The older Skyline GT-R V-spec II R34 is what many see as the ultimate tuner car. The RB26DETT motor can easily run 650-700 hp on the bottom end. Upgrade that, and you can easy run 1000+ hp @ 11000-12000 rpms, STILL getting 30000 miles with only oil changes ect. Amazing machine.
Here is one.

Belongs to an acquaintance of my brother. Hes R34 V-spec II. 0-300 kph (186 mph) in 19.55 sec. 1/4 in the 9's. About 900 hp crank and roughly 800 hp on all four wheels. All this in complete street trim. It's a fun ride Dude can build cars AND drive.

This was a silver newer body style Nissan that looked more like the current 370 than the GTR to me. Is the one you posted a video an older one? It did not have the 370 or GTR emblems on it, only "skyline" across the rear. I ran against 2 different GTR's at VIR and Summit Point and beat them both (rookie drivers) but this looked a little different.
He'd hit the gas and before the car took off you could hear it spooling ALOT. Being N/A, I'd hit the throttle and go...leaving him pretty easily. I'm 400hp at the wheels and didn't expect to pull him each time (at least I didn't think I should be able to pull a real GTR).

The one in the video is a 2002 R34 V-Spec II model and was in production from 1999-2004. Untill 2007 when the R35 came out, you could only buy them in right hand drive. He got hes from the UK, where he lives most of the time. The first skyline that was leagal in the US, is the R35 available now. The one in the vid, was only available in the UK, Japan and Australia. The guy my brother knows and that build, owns and drives the car, is former F1 driver Nicolas Kiesa. It's a pretty awsome ride sitting next to him. Hes current project is a twin turbo Gallardo, I'll post a few vids when hes done with it. Crazy stuff.

I know what they are as I have a MotoRex R33 GTR setting in my shop.
900+ hp in a few weeks. 700hp before. The end all of AWD cars fun to drive pain to have on the roads as I have been almost ran into while being video taped on the interstate and the pictures at ever stop...but that's why I own it.
And the GTR badge thing on ever sort of car out there is a little stupid. I have seen them on every kind of car.

I assume it was turbo'd. The times he took off without me he'd hit the gas and it just seem like the thing didn't move for a second or 2.
