I'm fairly certain that's standard operating procedure in certain states. The lien holder for my truck sent the title direct to me after I paid it off.

Here's the best! One morning I physically walked into a post office location to drop off a package to overnight it to someone. I handed it to the lady, filled out the papers and paid. When I get home from work that day, the same package was sitting on my doorstep. I mean, seriously, WTF?! She must have skipped the "From and To" class.

Paid off my GMC last month had the title within 30 days.

i cant say ive had an issue with a truck title however when i got my jet ski couple of years ago the Texas Parks and Wildlife sent my title and it got lost in the mail. i called them and told them that i didnt get it. they sent me another one at no cost. damn USPO.... i pefer FedEX at everything... there again i dont mail that much.. got to love email.
