the Ford 5.4 is also having timing chain problems , the tensoners give up on them , we have seen 4 this year already and it was under 100.000 miles on all but one of them.

Well looked a 2009 GMC 1500 sle crew cab very nice a few scratches but nothing that cann`t be buffed out. The car fax came back one owner with serviced at dealer but has 75k on it dealer would like it to go in the next two days. What do ya think my goal was to be under 65k with and 07. This one has lots of highway miles on it.

Doesn't sound bad at all. Under 100K miles still has emission warranty up to 100K and if it was serviced well with frequent oil changes and highway miles then it should be in great shape.

Don't put 100% faith in a Carfax report to begin with. They only show what's been reported.. My son bought a car with a clean Car fax report before I seen it and it was obvious it had been in a hard right rear hit. Buying used I always try and find a private one owner vehicle. You can easily tell what kind of care they have just driving up to the house it's located, and you can almost ALWAYS get a better vehicle at a better price then going thru a Dealer.

Just had this discussion tonight with my Dad as I am thinking of buying a high mile 3/4 just for towing, and all the Fords are cheaper around here but because of the plugs i will not touch it!!!

Masi I've had a 00 Tahoe with 160k running strong, then bought a 05 Sierra sold it with 65k because we needed a crew, now I have a 05 Sierra and I'm up to 63k, I love this truck, comfort, good fuel economy, note 07-up has better fuel mileage, and it tows well, especially for you with the 242, Any part that Ive replaced has been reasonable, also with the newer GM's I will only replace parts with Delco parts, (long story)
