Ford Upfitter Switches
 

My 2011 F-250 is equipped with upfitter switches. I want to add some lights to help with night launching and backing up and lights in the bed. Has anyone added anything to the switches? Where are the wires that go to the switches? Any one got any recommendations on good back up lights? Thanks

If you pull off the fuse panel cover located right below the steering column, you'll see a bundle of wires which belong to the switches. They're well marked so it's easy to figure out which are which. I added a couple functions to mine, one was the high-idle mod, and the other was the same as what you're looking to do, back-up lights. It was pretty simple. I just traded that truck though, so I don't know which lights I had on there.

I did it on my snowmobile trailer through the trailer plug (not the 4 prong but the larger one. When I put it into revers the lights come on. It works real nice, I have 4 fog lights on there.

There is no question that they are the top of the line...

Many offroad shops sell them. We sell them as well if you need help getting them.

There is a new one called a SRM that is just coming out that is smaller if you are not looking for huge light.
We have been putting them on some boats, and we are going to put them on the shop trucks as well.

The variable potentiometer (pot) is the way I went. That way you can tune the idle rpms on demand. I drilled a small hole through the fuse panel cover and mounted it there. I used switch #3 because it's the lowest AMP rating, so to save the higher current circuits available for other future purposes.
