Except this alternative So-called energy of unicorn farts and skittles is way more expensive than the real thing just more of a Joke is all.

All things like this arent always true. They say the Army well this vehicle could be just a test bed for the Army or could be a contractors version they are testing. MRAPS are whats being used right and will stay that way. The army would never paint anything like this either, this is a concept produced by a vendor

Of course it is a good thing that they have given the thumbs up to trying to save money. But, kind of like how I justify it to my wife that driving my diesel everyday is cheaper that buying a gas saving car and having the diesel. HMMWVs and MRAPs are currently in use i the Army. They have gone through the expensive testing, they have gone through the expensive fielding process, they have gone through the rigors of getting all of the needed repair parts into the system. To do all of that for another vehicle, to replace the existing vehicle just to save gas, would end up costing more than just driving what we have. So much money has been invested into those two platforms that I dont see them going anywhere for a while. Lets not forget about the mechanics that will need the training on the new type of powerplant for that sort of thing. Costs the Army a lot of money just to train a Soldier as well. Not trying to start an argument, just saying that trying to save money on gas is the least of our worries.
