2010 GMC back up camera
#11
Cabella's sells a mirror that fits atop your tailgate for when you are hitching a trailer. I used one for many years and loved it! I just installed a backup camera above the license plate with a full aftermarket Pioneer in dash setup. I miss the preciseness I had with the mirror vs. the camera I have now.

I just went and washed my SRX at a local car wash, guy beside me in a 599 could see better backing up out of the bay. The camera can only see a little and the bloody beepers dont know if its a squirrel running behind you or a Hummer. I still like bumping into stuff with my suburban and its 2 5/16 ball hanging out

Same! I think Dad said it was only a couple of hundred extra for the Camera, now it will be a fortune, he likes the idea of a high mount one, he tows a big fifth wheel RV, So, its nice to have a good view when backing up.
Anyone on here have a line/link on a GOOD aftermarket one that wouldn't be too hard to retrofit? Thanks for the input guys, guess he should have done his homework...........I wont even get into how PISSED he is that he doesn't have a rear window defroster! LOL

Great!
Thanks for the input, I will try a salvage yard, and worse case scenerio I guess he will have to get an aftermarket one. Any thoughts on somewhere other than a salvage yard to solve the rear window defroster problem? LOL

That could be handled with a glass shop. If the wiring is all there then the switch can be installed and change out the glass. It is possible that the rear def switch might require reflashing the PCM, I can't remember that at the moment.

I had one of the wireless ones that was battery operated. I just threw the monitor in the center console and put it in my lap when i was backing up to the trailer. It was like $69 from autozone.. Worked fine, black and white and kinda static-y but got the job done..
