Here is mine, 84 1 ton crew cab. Lowed 5/7 with bags in the rear! Tows really nice!!

How dose it run with that 525? Buddy has one with a 454 and thinking of an upgrade.

It's really a great match for this boat. It will run 83 anytime with a best recorded speed of 86 and hitting the limiter. Acceleration is awesome. XR upgrade is needed if you drive aggressively. It's not a cheap mod and should involve some hull beefing too which I did. It depends what you want and what you want to spend. You could bolt a pro-charger on the 454 and probably go faster but you wouldn't have the durability and reliability of a Mercury Racing engine.
