How much extra fuel can you carry in the frame tank?

It's not extra, I put this tank in to replace the saddle tanks. The frame tank is 35 gallons. The saddle tanks were 18 gallons each so I am a bit short but I did this for three main reasons...

1. Both saddle tanks were leaking a bit
2. The saddle tanks were dangerous because of them being on the outside of the frame rails
3. Simplification - was able to get rid of the switching system that was needed to switch between the two tanks

Thanks
Jim

The engine is already done, these pictures all from last year when I was doing the work. The engine got a towing cam, high volume oil pump, new intake, some dess up parts and fresh paint.

For 100,000 miles the engine looked brand new inside, I think the guy babied the hell out of it! :)

More pics to come!!

Truck is in great shape! The frame and engine compartment was covered with sand, I take it it lived it's life on a Texas ranch on dirt roads!
