6.4
:angry-smiley-038:Picked up my new (to me) 6.4 last night. :evilb::evilb:
That thing is as refined as my wifes tahoe!! It's quiet, smooth, rides nicely, etc..... Amazing what 2 decades of technology advancement can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to put the boat behind it and see what it feels like. I kind of just want to go out joy riding, but better focus on finishing the pier/lift..................:angry-smiley-038: |
Good luck with the new truck.

fixx
hope you got the extended warr and theextra money for fuel when towing..8mpg is all my friends average towing..

If we are talking about the 6.4 Power Stroke, then I would not even worry about 8 MPG. Depends on size of boat behind truck, when I pulled my 42 Fountain got 8-9 MPG not bad with gross wt of 24,000lbs. When I went to Florida last year to get my 32 CC I got 10-11 MPG. Not bad when going up and down the hills of TN. at 70-75MPH.

You gonna love it!! My 6.4 has been great, smooth quiet, powerful, interior is very tough looking & holds up well! I use the $hit out of my trucks without any complaint.

I just can't wait till the warranty is up and I can delete DPF and EGR. Truthfully, if I find a good deal on an H&S mini maxx before the warranry is up I'm going to do it anyways. |
Buddy actually called me today with good news about the DPF delete and spartan tuner i talked him into installing. Loves it! He used to be into import tuning and now is addicted to DIESEL POWER!

Be careful with the Spartan, great tuner but the stock head bolts & gaskets only like about 48 -50 PSI. Trust me mine wold smack 54-55 psi hauling a load ( that was stupid!) save your $5000 for the new gaskets & studs which are way more then the 6.0 studs for some reason. Custom tune that Spartan to de - fuel around 45 psi it will save you a lot of time & money. |
