You need that balloon if you order a lot of steaks at truckstops and Denny's.
But when you settle on an of-caliber steak house that you can deem "favorite", that's when I pulled the condom dispenser out of the boat.

I've owned at least a baker's dozen trucks over the years. Gas, diesel, 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, etc.. Not one has come close to performing in terms of MPG's unloaded, loaded or towing as bragged about on the "internets". Same with pulling prowess through the hills without downshifting, etc. I must have bought 13 + lemons...

^^^^ Exactly. I think the problem is some people just can`t be unbiased. What ever they have at the time (Baja , Ford , Chevy, Cigarette, Diesel or gas) its the greatest thing cause they own it.
Personally if i don`t like something I`m not going to fool myself into thinking its the greatest.. I will rip on Chevy , Ford, Active Thunder , Baja, Cig.. whatever. Its how I roll; unbiased.
Some folks like drinking the coolaid.. I prefer Whisky!!

MPG & Towing on these trucks is a STUPID conversation. If you want to have a conversation around MPG between stock Civics, RSXs, Corollas, Sentras, and Sonatas; by all means go ahead.
...y'all are just wasting keystrokes.
You have to pay to play. If you can't afford to pay, don't renew the insurance on the boat (see other thread
). If you still can't afford to pay, take up RC boating.

Its all about what you like, they all break equal, they all suck down some sort of fuel, they are all junk.
example:
-My 7.3 diesel is now going down for a full trans rebuild.....Yeah, can't afford to have the ford garage do it, so looks like I'm getting dirty.
- I blew the granny 4speed trans apart in my plow truck dragging logs with it this weekend (mild 454, sm465/205 1987 chevy 3/4ton, 35" tires)
-Just bought a 1973 3/4 ton chevy with a warmed over 454 to daily drive and turn into new plow truck while I lay my diesel up, lets see how long this one lasts.

Since i started this thread many months ago i thought i would bring it to a close.....after many months of searching and finally deciding to make my move i sold my 2000 F150 to the first caller and bought a 2002 F250 club cab 4x4 7.4 Diesel. I got lucky and found a super clean 2 owner truck with 110,000 miles that has had a pampered life. HAve to fly to Dallas next week on business and will detour to Charolette, NC on my way home to pick it up. Needless to say i didnt get it for $15K but based on others i had been looking at with low miles i got a good deal. I will post some pictures when i get it home.
