I have a 2006 F-250 factory trailer brakes and pull 3 different EOH trailers and actuators with it and they all work fine - my 2012 is funny with EOH no matter I set it up it seems to have a lag to it?

If you're pulling the breakaway and it's firing up I bet it's the fuse that charges it. I had the same problem. I believe it's a 20 amp mini fuse under the hood. That's where I found my issue.

Yes and way too much work Lol I guess after checking all the fuses tomorrow and checking the trailer socket we will see what happens. I have an email into dexter.
Haynes, Genesis controller with pigtail is supposed to replace ford controller and disable. Plug and play I hope ha ha. I did learn a few things though, but saved no money on my car insurance. Its all good I will post my results.

I just went thru this same s@-t two months ago with a chevy and brand new trailer with EOH brakesI had my truck back to the dealer it was driving me so crazy.I had all the driving lights but no brakes.hooked up to a car trailer and everything worked(different type of electric brakes but worked) had a buddy with a Dodge hook up and everything worked.Turned out that from 04or06 and up Ford and Chevy trucks need a conversion module for the trailer brake system(mine's a Carlisle) it was like 60 70 bucks plugs right in with weather tight connector.something to look into before you go ape sh#t over the truck.

Problem solved, thanks for the help and replies !
Why I just didnt go and buy a $15 tester and spend a little time checking the rear pigtail is beyond me. Upon checking my blue output wire and ground I cranked up the controller to 10 and had 12 volts all good. reduced the controller down to 4/5 and voltage dropped in half all good. Dikkk before me added and spiced in a fender socket for fifth wheel trailer. He used wire nuts but it worked. Plugged in trailer and checked blue wire at pump NOTHING !! Took apart pigtail at trailer and the blue wire was not connected.
I wanted to scream. Ripped out everything bought new male and female ends from NAPA and in an hour completely rewired. Then the moment of truth turned on lights and they came on, drove truck down the street and hit the manual brake controller and smoked the tires to a halt !! turned down to 4 and no lock up empty.Bleed brakes later and then off for 6 new tires.
I knew you guys were losing sleep so I came home early and posted !! LOL
